Cold-Link Logistics announces major expansion of Providence cold storage facility Cold-Link Logistics, one of the ten largest privately held cold storage platforms in North America, has announced a major expansion of its tri-temperature facility in North Kingstown, Rhode Island.
The project will add 65,000 sq ft of freezer space to the existing 64,000 sq ft facility, bringing the total to 129,000 sq ft.
Capacity will more than triple, from approximately 4,500 to 18,000 pallet positions, with 13,500 new frozen positions added.
Upgrades include a more efficient refrigeration system, expanded loading dock capacity from 14 to 17 doors, a new fire protection system, and the repurposing of 3,000 square feet of ambient space for freezer use.
Construction begins in Q1 2026, with completion expected by early 2027.(Business Wire)
Constellation Cold Logistics welcomes Spedition Wohlert and Wohlert Kühl Logistik into the network Constellation Cold Logistics has announced that Spedition Wohlert and Wohlert Kühl Logistik have officially joined its network, marking the company's strategic entry into Germany.
The integration adds 40,000 pallet positions of modern temperature-controlled capacity, a fleet of 150 vehicles supporting both less-than-truckload and full-truckload distribution, and a network of cold storage and cross-docking facilities across Germany.
Wohlert Group brings a longstanding reputation for cold logistics excellence, with value-added services including blast freezing, order picking, import and export logistics, and crate washing.
The partnership supports continued investment in capacity and service development to meet evolving customer requirements across the food and logistics industries, with a shared emphasis on operational excellence and sustainable growth. (Cold Chain News)
Thermo Fisher Scientific opens distribution centre in Ireland Thermo Fisher Scientific has opened a new 70,000 sq ft distribution centre in Bracetown, County Meath, Ireland, expanding the company's in-country distribution capacity by more than 400%.
The purpose-built facility supports drug discovery research, clinical development, and commercial manufacturing by increasing local availability of chemicals, critical materials, and temperature-sensitive products for biopharma and academic organisations.
The facility incorporates strong sustainability features, including an on-site solar system expected to generate approximately 120,000 kWh of electricity annually, a high-efficiency heat pump enabling 100% renewable energy operation, and an A2 Building Energy Rating.
Claire Wallace, president of Thermo Fisher's research and safety market division for Europe, said the investment reflects the company's long-term commitment to Ireland's life sciences sector. (Pharmaceutical Manufacturer)
AC Logistics, GMI open cold storage facility in Davao ecozone AC Logistics Holdings Corporation and Glacier Megafridge, Inc. (GMI) have opened a cold storage facility at the Anflo Industrial Estate in Panabo City, Philippines.
Operated through their joint venture, GMAC Logitech Refrigeration Corporation, the facility offers 11,798 pallet positions and is considered among the largest and most advanced cold storage facilities in the Davao region.
Located within an accredited special economic zone, it is designed to serve the agriculture, aquaculture, food processing, retail, and light manufacturing sectors, with a focus on supporting micro, small, and medium enterprises alongside larger companies.
GMI CEO Arturo Yan emphasized the companies' shared vision of expanding world-class cold chain infrastructure beyond major metropolitan areas to support inclusive economic growth and strengthen the Philippines' position in regional trade. (Port Calls Asia)
