MEDLOG and CMLOG expand cold storage capacity in China MEDLOG and China Master Logistics Co. Ltd. (CMLOG) have officially announced a joint venture and unveiled a new 24,000 sqm cold storage facility in Shanghai, the third and largest site in a shared network that also includes cold stores near the ports of Tianjin and Ningbo.

  • Located in Lingang, within Shanghai's Special Comprehensive Free Trade Zone, the facility has a capacity of 80,000 tonnes and is equipped with intelligent reefer technologies including iWMS, iWCS, and AGV systems.

  • Offering both bonded and unbonded areas, it is tailored for frozen meat, seafood, dairy, fruit, and consumer food products.

  • The facility supports a one-stop cross-border cold chain service integrating international shipping, customs clearance, and temperature controlled warehousing.

  • MEDLOG Chairman Giuseppe Prudente described the investment as a significant addition to the company's cold chain footprint in China at a pivotal moment in global trade. (MEDLOG)

Stoneweg Europe buys Dutch cold chain hub Singapore-listed Stoneweg Europe Stapled Trust (SERT) has completed the acquisition of a temperature controlled logistics facility in Waddinxveen, the Netherlands, for approximately $51.7 million (EUR 35.0 million).

  • The freehold property offers 30,398 sqm of net lettable area, comprising approximately 90% warehouse space and 10% office space.

  • It is fully leased to Combilo B.V., a fresh-produce wholesaler, on an eight-year triple-net lease with two five-year extension options running to 2034.

  • The acquisition price was approximately 8% below independent valuation and 37% below estimated reinstatement cost, with an expected net yield of 6.0%.

  • Funding came primarily from existing cash resources, including proceeds from the divestment of the Maxima Rome site as part of a EUR 400 million divestment programme.

  • The acquisition raises SERT's Netherlands logistics and light industrial exposure to 29.7% and its overall logistics, light industrial, and data-centre exposure to 60.5%. (SBR)

Construction begins on Greenyard refrigerated warehouse park in Gliwice, Poland Construction has begun on a modern refrigerated logistics centre for Greenyard Logistics Poland at the Marq Logistics Centre in Gliwice, with the first stage expected to be operational by the fourth quarter of 2026.

  • The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by developer Marq (formerly GLP), project investor Merity Funds, general contractor Bremer Polska, and advisor JLL.

  • Designed to serve southern Poland's growing demand for professional temperature controlled services, the facility will feature an ammonia-glycol installation, a dehumidification system, a modern defrosting system, and enhanced insulation, with flooring prepared for mobile racking.

  • Services will include flash freezing, long-term storage, co-packing, and distribution.

  • The first stage encompasses Greenyard's own operational area plus an additional 8,000 sqm available for lease, with potential for a further 20,000 sqm expansion.

  • Radosław Nowak, managing director of Greenyard Logistics Poland, cited Gliwice's central location in Silesia as key to serving both domestic and international customers. (Eurobuild)

AI-powered cold storage facility opens at Anflo Industrial Estate in Panabo City, Philippines AC Logistics and GMAC Logitech Refrigeration Corp. have launched their third and largest cold storage facility at the Anflo Industrial Estate in Panabo City, Davao del Norte, Philippines.

  • The facility, located within the Floirendo family's Damosa Land industrial estate, features 11,728 pallet positions with a capacity equivalent to nearly 12 million kilograms, bringing GMAC's total storage capacity to 17,000 pallets across three Mindanao sites, including facilities in Cagayan de Oro City and Zamboanga.

  • Artificial intelligence powers much of the facility's operations, managing refrigeration temperature integrity and inventory levels.

  • The centre accommodates multiple temperature ranges and is designed to serve banana exporters and other high-value crop producers, supporting Philippine food supply and export capabilities.

  • Glacier Megafridge CEO Arturo Yan said the joint venture plans to double its capacity within five years, targeting expansion to Basilan, General Santos City, Cebu, Bacolod, and Northern Luzon to build a national cold chain corridor. (Business Mirror)

DHL Supply Chain and Thaifoods Group launch centralized multi-temperature fulfilment centre in Thailand DHL Supply Chain Thailand has established a strategic partnership with Thaifoods Group, one of Thailand's leading integrated food producers, to operate a Centralized Fulfillment Center at DHL's Multi-User Facility in Wangnoi, Ayutthaya.

  • The purpose-built hub manages ambient, chilled, and frozen product categories within a single operation, covering dry packaged foods and cooking ingredients, chilled processed meats and ready-to-cook products maintained between 0°C and 4°C, and frozen goods stored below -18°C.

  • Integrated warehouse management systems provide real-time visibility, traceability, and inventory control across all temperature zones, while operations comply with GMP and HACCP standards.

  • The partnership builds on a 2021 transportation agreement between the two companies, with the current arrangement focused exclusively on warehousing.

  • DHL Supply Chain Thailand CEO Steve Walker highlighted the facility's precision and scalability, while Thaifoods Group Assistant Vice President Santi Wutisela said the collaboration would streamline inventory management and support the company's long-term expansion across domestic and export markets. Snowman Logistics will develop a 6,500-pallet cold storage facility in Patna under a built-to-suit model with Nahar Group, targeting January 2027 completion to serve Bihar and neighboring markets across eastern India.

Hunt's Food Group expanded its temperature-controlled fleet with 19 new MAN TGM rigid trucks fitted with Carrier Transicold Supra 850 MT and Supra 1250 MT systems, deepening a partnership dating back to 2015.

Utility Trailer Manufacturing launched the Cargobull 625+ Mono-Temp and 655MT+ Multi-Temp Hybrid TRUs for its 3000R refrigerated trailer, featuring a hermetic two-stage compressor, microchannel condenser, and up to 20% more cooling capacity at -20°F, with an optional ePTO for electric tractor compatibility.
