Schmitz Cargobull brings the S.KOe COOL to the UK & Ireland Schmitz Cargobull has introduced the S.KOe COOL, an all-electric box body semi-trailer, to the UK and Ireland markets.

• The S.KOe COOL features a fully electric S.CU ep85 cooling unit, a battery system, and an electric generator axle, ensuring 100% emissions-free operation. This innovation is especially beneficial for urban deliveries due to its quiet operation.

• The launch event took place at the Hilton Metropole in Birmingham, where the S.KOe COOL was showcased alongside other products suitable for the retail sector.

• Schmitz Cargobull has already achieved overall vehicle type approval for the S.KOe COOL from the German Federal Motor Transport Authority, marking it as the first manufacturer to gain such approval for a fully electric refrigerated semi-trailer with an e-axle. (link)

I Squared Capital acquires WOW Logistics I Squared Capital, a global infrastructure investment manager and investor in CubeCold, has successfully completed the acquisition of WOW Logistics, a prominent logistics and supply chain services provider in North America.

• WOW Logistics, headquartered in Wisconsin, operates a network of 29 facilities across the United States and offers a range of services including warehousing, transportation, and commodity purchasing.

• The company's expertise in temperature-controlled logistics is particularly noteworthy, as it caters to the food and beverage industry, among others.

ICL expands cold chain capabilities in collaboration with FreshLinc International Cargo Logistics (ICL), a forwarder headquartered in London, has broadened its cold chain logistics services by partnering with FreshLinc, a specialist in temperature-controlled supply chain solutions.

• This collaboration extends their existing sea freight container transport relationship to now encompass airfreight services, with a particular emphasis on the final-mile delivery across the UK.

• This move comes at a critical time when the demand for effective cold chain logistics is surging, driven by the global trade of perishable goods and the essential transport of temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals.

• The collaboration is set to capitalize on the strengths of both companies, including their expansive networks, cutting-edge technology, and seasoned teams, to deliver a comprehensive logistics solution that maintains the integrity of temperature-controlled goods from the point of origin to the final destination. DHL’s temperature-controlled logistics - important link in the pharmaceutical supply chain Since 2020, DHL Global Forwarding (DGF) has concentrated its efforts on the logistics of pharmaceuticals, recognizing them as among the most time-sensitive perishables.
