An Eye for Detail: How Lineage solves for lack of standardization in 3PL Lineage has addressed the significant challenge of non-standardization in the global food supply chain, particularly in the labeling of pallets.

  • Lineage customers use a wide variety of labeling methods, ranging from bar codes to text-only labels and selection bubbles. This diversity in labeling practices presents a considerable challenge in accurately receiving and processing pallets.

  • To tackle this issue, Lineage has developed a proprietary technology called Lineage Eye. This innovative solution utilizes modern computer vision algorithms to scan and extract label and packaging information from pallets as they enter Lineage facilities.

  • The extracted data is then compared against the customer's inventory list to ensure accuracy.

  • This process allows for the efficient and accurate processing of pallets without the need for additional preparation, thereby enhancing operational efficiency and allowing team members to focus on solving more complex problems for customers. (link)
