Maersk launches integrated packing and cold storage hub to boost Peru’s fruit exports A.P. Moller-Maersk has launched a new integrated packing and cold storage hub in Olmos, Peru, to support the country's growing agro-export sector.

  • The 17,500 sq.m. facility, strategically located in northern Peru's agricultural corridor, is the first of its kind in the region.

  • The facility specializes in three primary fruits—avocados, blueberries, and mangoes—offering end-to-end cold chain services from harvest to export.

  • Key capabilities include processing up to 38 tons/hour for avocados and mangoes, storage for over 4,600 bins across climate-controlled rooms, and seven rapid cooling tunnels for preservation.

  • Advanced features include automated packing lines, warehouse management systems, and sustainability measures like electrified equipment and planned solar panels. (Maersk)

Snowman Logistics opens new cold storage facility in Kundli Snowman Logistics Limited has opened a new cold storage facility in Kundli, Delhi NCR, expanding its northern India presence.

  • The strategically located warehouse adds 3,576 pallet positions to the company's network, bringing total capacity to 154,330 pallets across 44 warehouses in 21 cities.

  • The Kundli facility is equipped with modern infrastructure to serve temperature-sensitive industries including quick service restaurants, ice cream, dairy, bakery, confectionery, ready-to-eat meals, fresh produce, and pharmaceuticals.

  • Chairman Prem Kishan Dass Gupta emphasized this represents an important expansion step following recent capacity additions in Kolkata and Krishnapatnam.

  • Snowman operates through an asset-light approach, maintaining 296 owned and over 325 leased refrigerated vehicles for comprehensive cold chain solutions. (The Machine Maker)

Almac completes a multi million investment enhancing cold chain capabilities in Craigavon Almac Clinical Services has completed a multi-million-pound investment to enhance cold chain capabilities at its global headquarters in Craigavon, Northern Ireland.

  • The strategic expansion includes a purpose-built Ultra-Low Temperature facility that has tripled the company's -15°C to -25°C secondary packaging capabilities and doubled ultra-low temperature storage capacity (-60°C to -80°C).

  • The enhanced infrastructure aims to meet growing demand for Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs), including cell and gene therapies, which require ultra-precise cold chain logistics.

  • Dr. Robert Dunlop, President and Managing Director, emphasized the investment supports biopharmaceutical clinical trials by providing GMP environments, robust cold chain logistics, and quality control for compliant packaging and labeling of biological products. (Almac Group)

Paragon Logistics opens advanced cold storage facility to meet surging demand in London Paragon Logistics has opened a new purpose-built frozen storage warehouse in London to meet rising demand from food, healthcare, and pharmaceutical sectors.

  • The facility strengthens the company's cold chain infrastructure and is strategically located for optimal access to London and nationwide transport routes.

  • The warehouse features ambient, chilled, and deep-freeze zones with scalable, energy-efficient storage capabilities.

  • Designed with temperature integrity as its core focus, the facility safely handles products ranging from frozen poultry to delicate medical items while maintaining throughput and quality standards.

  • The warehouse complements Paragon's expanding service suite, including same-day and next-day delivery, temperature-regulated transport, multi-drop schedules, warehousing, fulfillment, and freight forwarding. (ZNews)

Mediterranean Shipping Company has launched MSC iReefer, an advanced container monitoring system that provides 24/7 real-time tracking of temperature, humidity, and location for refrigerated cargo, available in three packages from free Essential to API-integrated Ultimate.

British food producer Cranswick has deployed four battery and solar-powered refrigerated trucks from Sunswap after trials showed 81% reduction in running costs and 43% total cost savings compared to diesel units.

Falcongate Logistics has expanded into the refrigerated transport sector by adding ten new refrigerated units to its fleet, targeting frozen foods and chilled produce delivery to Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi and Tete.
